Google's Desktop Search Exposes Security Issues on Windows

The Google Desktop Search (GDS), which creates a searchable index of your PC data files, searchs so good it sometimes finds files you don't know about or want to find. Examples like find files in you browser cache or secure, password protected files. GDS even can find encrypted files. It can even search other user's files, if you have multiple users who use the same PC.

Even though a browser should not store SSL-encrypted pages, it might ask you if want to. If a person has admin rights, they can see all files on a PC. So, is there really a problem with GDS?

There is pressue to force Google to fix this issues, even though it might not be an issue. People are blaming Google because their application works to good or searches to good. In the end, isn't that why we all love Google to begin with... it is a search egnine after all... right?
